I'm thoroughly please with my R-55, except for the lack of digital output
(don't know of any portables that have this feature) I cannot think of
anything I would change - the quality of live recorded sound is excellent.

Subject: MD: Greetings from Spain

Hi+ACE- This e-mail is my presentation on the list.

My name is Enrique Llorens, I'm from Valencia (Spain) and I'm a musician
(violin player). I have not (yet) a MD, so this is my first question:

I want to buy a MD portable recorder, and after have a look of the thousands
of internet pages of information, i'm a little annoyed...

I think i decide for a Sony for the only reason of the separate line out. I
have a friend who has the mzr30 and says to me that the difference between
the line out and the +ACI-headphones-as-line-out+ACI- is very important. And (i
think) Sharp and Aiwa portables doesn't have this connector.

My priorities to buy a MD are quality of recording and sound quality (i have
no problem with look of the unit, batteries, remote, size...) For me the
most important is that recordings sound great and the sound quality it will
be good.

My doubt is: Which Sony (if you not convince me of another option)? I will
use the MD mainly to record my own or my pupils' performances and then link
to the computer and edit them with Cool Edit or so and after burn a CD.
Well, not only this. Normally i will record and i listen to the recording in
the MD, or with my home stereo, or use the md as a walkman.

Here in Spain we can buy the Sony models R37, R55, R70, R90 (and R91) but
the old R35 (R30 clone) too+ACE- R37 and R70 haven't this line out connector, so
i'm not considering. R90 it's a little expensive for me, so the decision is:
R55 or R35? Price is more or less the same (r35 being a little cheaper). I
have heard that R35 has a very good sound quality and recording
quality...but it's better the R55? I have seen that this unit have reported
a lot of problems...

What can I do? Are Aiwa F65 or Sharp MD-MT20 options to consider? It's a lot
of difference of quality between the line out of the Sony's and the
headphone out of Aiwa or Sharp (or R70 too)?

Heeeeeeeelp+ACE-

Thanks in advance and sorry for my awful english+ACE-
