| channel. Thus (L+R)/2 would result in 0.... With (L(t)+R(t-1))/2 you keep

(Would stereo where L=-R sound like plain mono to human ears?)
Good point; too bad there's no way to prevent that where it isn't needed,
because, as we've seen, it has a side effect.
