Marantz has a new PRO model stand-alone CD recorder under $500! They also have a PRO dual-drawer (dubbing) CD recorder under $700. PRO recorders use the cheap "computer" discs and they ignore SCMS copy protection. They make recording to CD as easy as recording to MiniDisc! You can dub from MD>CD or CD>CD with a simple optical cable. These models have regular RCA analog inputs and outputs for easy connection to your stereo, as well as both optical and coaxial digital inputs. These PRO recorders will automatically convert MD "track IDs" into CD track IDs, and now, you can even change the volume or the channel balance digitally while you make your CDs!
