MD: Argh, Aiwa XR-H66MD junk

My Aiwa XR-H66MD quit reading CD's many months ago.
Now it won't make a decent MD recording, as a few tracks skip upon
playback.
I bet it's got Sony optical blocks in it.
I practically have to replace my Sony-based CD/MD equipment every year
just to keep it all working *sigh*.
