When you called yours an F70 you were clear enough, and more often than not
I don't use the full lengths of model numbers either. The only exception I
make is that I call my Prospec SCMS stripper an "MSP730" and not just a
"730" because there was (or there was supposed to be) a Sony deck designated
the MDS-JE730, so "730" by itself would be ambiguous. Even then, usually
it's clear whether one is talking about an SCMS stripper or an MD deck!
