Well I mainly bought my MD player/recorder (Sony MZ-R900DPC) for use when
walking to work, but I end up listening to it a lot more than I thought I
would. I do programming for a living, and I find with a real good
electronica/trance compilation going I can get into a hell of a groove,
zoning the world out. It's not that work's noisy or anything, but it's not
like I can blast club tracks out of my PC speakers at work. :)

Around home I normally don't listen to the MD player much since I have a
decent stereo, but if I'm in bed and need to relax a bit before sleeping
I'll slip em on and listen for a bit.

Personally I use my MD to record compilations of CDs I already own, and
creating compilations of MP3s from the net. I don't pirate music
exclusively, I almost always will buy CDs first, but a lot of electronic
music just isn't released here, or is released on massive compilations where
only a couple songs are good. It makes more sense for me to download the 5
meg MP3 (or the 80 meg megamix) than shell out like 30 - 40 bucks for the
compilation album that'll inevitably suck.

Personally I'd say my MD is one of the best purchases I've made since my
home theater. :P
