another concern:even though if you use external keypad, how do you make screen reader to read the current windows/focused item/line on text? and without swiping notification shade and statuses cannot be read. how do you access those on external keypads such as rivo keyboard?

I am surprised to see that the moderator is yet to intervene in this discussion and specially to those comments persecuting users still missing their keypad based phones... Discussing and comparing old versus new technologies doesn't mean inviting wrath of some frenzy folks who instead of answeing to valid questions prefer to jump on hasty conclusion and even act as analyst and super moderator tagging it as "timepass" and suggesting "close of thread". Its better to offer sollutions of problems rather hiding behind cover of being "super techy"! Some of my questions: 1. how to send one sms to around 150 people from contact list which contains 700 contacts, specially when one doesn't remember all names and hence compelled to browse all contacts?2. how to make typing easier without incurring additional cost, time and effort?3. how to ascertain that which menu is located at which place in various windows? Remember that there are people who don't have much free time to leave important works and give their whole day on exploring and remembering that which menu is located at which place. 4. how to label multiple of unlabelled buttons in androit without taking sighted help? Since Symbian is primarily associated with the keypad interface and Android with touch interface, we've started labeling the OS instead of the structure of a phone in terms of accessibility and comfortability... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shyam M. This is so because; the ease and total control which youcould get in the symbian phone is not possible in the Android phone. The option key, the menu key and the arrow keys give you full control over the symbian phone. The typing eas in the Symbian phone is wonderful. In the symbian phone the full phone could be operated with one hand with your single thumb, whereas, in Android you require using both hands and more fingers. Some say that they do everything just with one hand, but that is anexception and not a rule. The main problem with the android phones isthat the location of different buttons such as delete button and more options button in different operations is not fixed, and you take a lot of time to locate them. Further more, many of the buttons are not labled. The number ofscreens also add to our problems, All these problems are not there inthe Symbian. Professor Shyam M.
