yeah, i too agree that samsung is the head and soldier above all the

phones in the the accessibility point of view, but in the usability
point
of view it is worse! lots of hanging and unresponsiveness with screen

indian company is doing really best making phones like lava, intex, zolo,
micromax, etc. i believe those phones are goods in terms of both
accessibility as well as usability rather then samsung. otherwise, our
knowledgeble friends has throw good amount of light regarding this
matter,

Dear friends,
thank you for your valuable suggestions.
I am not using KNFB reader. I take images using an app called
camscanner. this app processes the images for darkness etc, and
make
them readable to OCR softwares. then I convert them to PDF and copy
to
my computer. pdf option is available in camscanner. I feed thus
obtained images to Kurzweil and get the converted KES files. I have
prepared my own stand for holding the mobile. though not very good
and
heavy in weight, it is portable. I want to use this for scanning
books
and not for bills, receipts, etc. I am already having a 5MP camera
with samsung core prime. but it cannot scan large pages like A4 and
above. also, I cannot scan 2 pages at a time as the quality and
resolution of images will be reduced. I am scanning small books
with
it without problem. any further suggestion will be appreciated.

according to my observation, the algorithm for knfb reader over
the
mobile
is still premature. and you can no longer be rely on mobile
scanning, if
you are scanning some serious things. however for the day by day
use,
like
reading bills, printed applications, restorent menus, even some
novals you
want to study etc, this program is the perfect solution. as
satguru
sir
says, you might have to adopt the knfb stand. if you want to
batch
scan,
but it can not be gurented about the accuracy as computer
application.

best thing about this knfb reader is that it doesn't uses the
resolution for
recognization purpose, instead it uses zuming function, that's
why 5
mp
camera is more then enough for knfb reader.

for the smart phone recommendation, i would like to believe moto
phone is
the best.

To add to what Mohib said, though the KNFB reader offers “Batch
Mode”
for continuous scanning, heavy scanning won’t be possible without
a
dedicated stand and would be intresting to know if there are
portable
scanning stands available to carry around.
Coming to phone, accessibility and lots of other things such as
timely
updates, battery, etc. are other contributing factors to consider
before making a decision. Moto phones find their way ahead in
most of
these fields.

Scanning books using mobile phone? Are you going to rely on KNFB
reader for it? if yes, it won't be much helpful for you, as it
will
be
time taking and cumbursom process to scan whole book using phone
camera. If you are committed to it, you can purchase any phone
which
has more than 8 mp camera, as the recognition quality depends
upon
the
OCR engen and not on the phone camera, provided phone camera is
able
to take clear picture, and 8 mp camera is fine for it. So you can
purchase any Moto, Sony, Xiaomi, LG or Opo phones, I don't
recommend
anyone to purchase Samsung, as it hangs too much using talkback.

I think, if you go for MotoG 4+ that would be a better choice
as it
has good cam and over all good and has 3 GB ram compare to 2 GB

the
devices you mentioned and has quick charge technology included.

Only problem could be that, it gets heated on continuous usage.

Trust that helps.
