This morning I found a flock of at least 16 American Avocets along the shore of 
Lone Tree Lake, which is on the west side of 310 Ave. in NW Brown county.  
While I was scoping them a very nice farmer that lives nearby stopped by to 
visit.  He said that he regularly checks the birds on this small lake and that 
the Avocets have been there for the past 4-5 days.  There was a nice variety of 
birds at this lake today of waterfowl (32 Greater White-fronted Geese), gulls, 
shorebirds, herons and egrets.
