Yesterday ahead of the coming downpour I twice heard a yellow-billed cuckoo (rain crow) while walking. It may have been the same bird twice, calling from two different patches of aspen woods. I have never heard it this far north--in fact I remember it well from childhood pastureland in central Indiana. Sibley's map shows this bird as an occasionally found species in our area.
Also a nice variety of northland warblers from along the Whiteface River including magnolia, parula, black-throated green, Canada, pine and northern waterthrush. *Tanya Beyer* http://www.epiphaniesafield.com/home-page.html ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
