I don't know how to fix that.

The line in question is:

        .section .data.rel.ro.local,"aw",@progbits

It is complaining that .data.rel.ro.local is too long.

Unfortunately .data.rel.ro.local is part of the assembler/linker syntax to
prevent certain kinds of memory corruption. It seems when they came up with
this syntax, they forgot to check that it was actually supported by past
versions of their assembler!

It probably should be reported as a bug to the binutils people, since it is
going to stop a lot of code compiling on Macs. The linker hint should have
been chosen with a shorter name.
