Oh yea! When we upgraded from V5.0 to V5.2 2 years ago I ran into many such
situations. Basically what I did was to state flatly that applications must
run using the MQ components that I install and maintain. Anything else will
be considered "unsupported". It seemed to do the trick because I had no
repeat performances when I went from V5.2 to V5.23 last year.

I just discovered that when my developer built his VB app, he built an
installer. Which copies several MQ dlls (and several other system dlls) into
his application directory.
Which means he was executing with CSD00 levels of mqm.dll & mqic32.dll, and
CSD05 levels of everthing else. Recipe for disaster, I think, and we are
still trying to untangle the mess.
Anybody else suffer from this?

I have a VB app that does an MQCONN, MQOPEN, and MQCLOSE just fine. But
on the MQDISC it errors. I am running MQ V5.3 and the app is getting to MQ
via MQ client (also V5.3). Is there a support pac out there for this
problem ????
