Hi Robert... Of course it works on you platform. It is strange that you've got it to work for four hours though? Did your read any installation instructions? Maybe you've only started the daemon from a command-prompt and then later closed the command-prompt window?
Try starting the \mysql\bin\winmysqladmin.exe tool.
