Here's what's new on StarNet, the online service of the Arizona Daily Star:

4,100 new flu shots, thanks to Maricopa
Pima County will receive 4,100 doses of flu vaccine that Maricopa County health
officials have turned down. The extra doses will allow local long-term-care
facilities and some private doctors to immunize their most vulnerable patients
and Tucson health officials to continue the shots in appointment-only clinics.

Big in the Big Apple
The Wildcats have won 89.2 percent of their games at McKale Center during the
21-plus years of the Lute Olson era, but they are even better at Madison Square
Garden: They have a perfect 9-0 mark under Olson against consistently tough
competition.

Film to create traffic horror scene
If drivers don't want to see a scary sight today, stay away from Congress
Street. A film crew will use the Downtown area near Hotel Congress to shoot
horror master Stephen King's "Desperation" between Sixth and Toole avenues from
4 a.m. to 9 p.m., bringing havoc to morning and afternoon commuters.

La Placita sold to Bourn for $7.8M
Bourn Properties will pay $7.8 million to buy La Placita Village, the Downtown
office and retail center that earned the nicknames Rubik's Cube Complex and

Alexander the Pretty Good
At the three-hour "Alexander," fortune favors those who can hold. Just as its
subject, Alexander the Great, never met an army he couldn't beat, "Alexander"
the three-hour movie won't meet a bladder it can't bust. Only those as bold as
the Macedonian will ride into battle with 32-ounce sodas. Director Oliver Stone
isn't about to shortchange the life and legacy of his favorite historical
figure, and of course he'll have to tack on a few conspiracy theories.
