Well, I'm kind of in the same boat. And I'm certainly no expert.
I'm manipulating the XML output directly with PERL using the
XML::Parser() module I found at CPAN. The redundancy isn't really
causing me a problem (I just ignore those tags for now). I would
*think* that it would not cause you a problem.
However, one problem I did find is that while Nessus is very good
about giving you raw data (particularly banner data) in the <data>
tag, some times this is Bad(TM). XML::Parse, at least, is choking on
embedded Ctrl-Cs and some other binary characters. I'll probably
pre-process the XML file to "sanitize" it, but this may also be
causing you a problem?

Randy, I'm seeing this too. Using xmlspy and attempting to create
an access db via export, the parser complains creating the tables for
(host/s). I wouldn't know how to fix it.. I'm learning xml xsl as I
type ;) ..wow! very powerful, but quite a learning curve.
