There is a list of dependencies needed for the gui somewhere on the nessus web site (and probably in the man pages too) you'll want to check and make sure all of those are installed, I believe nessus will check to see if the appropriate things are there when you install it - so if you did not have the right packages installed you'll need to install them and then re-install nessus.
