Hey, guys!

I downloaded and compiled the core source files (I installed the
sharutils but the install.sh didn't work for me). I extracted and
configured, made and made installed in the instructed order. I didn't
receive any errors, everything seemed to go well.

I then edited my ld.so.conf file in a text editor, I left everything in
there and added the line as instructed, so it looks like this

/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/lib/sane
/usr/lib/qt-3.1/lib
/usr/local/lib

then, after I edited my PATH (a friend helped me, since I don't know
Linux very well) and we did some code, export path somethin somethin, so
that it included the /usr/local/bin.

When I try to create a certificate in nessus by the nessus-mkcert
command, I got the following error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] /]# nessus-mkcert
nessusd: error while loading shared libraries: libnasl.so.2: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
Executing nessusd failed. Make sure your library loader is configured
properly
and that nessusd is in your $PATH

so, 3 things I'm thinking:

 - Was I right in leaving that stuff in my ld.so.conf file and just
adding the line at the end, or should I comment something out?

 - I edited my PATH, but did /usr/local/bin ans that's what it said in
the config file, was this a typo?

 - How can I make sure the library loader and nessusd are configured
properly and/or in my path, or is that what the first 2 options are?

I checked the FAQ and saw no similar questions with my error. I have
Fedora Core 1 running root in KDE I rpm'd ivh'd the gtk* and gimp*
rpms, so I should have the gimp tool kit installed, but didn't do the
glc's (tho I remember that being installed during the initial install.
I also rebooted and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!! And please be specific
as I'm a noob.

Thanks
