Hi,
I would like to enable linkUp/linkDown notifications in my agent, but would
like to do this *without* DISMAN being enabled. I have a minimal agent MIB
configuration that does not include 'disman' - from configure-summary:
Agent MIB code: default_modules => snmpv3mibs mibII notification
notification-log-mib target agentx utilities
Nominal walks of the ifXTable do not in include the presence of
ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.x instances ("No Such Instance") and I'm trying to
figure out why this is. I am, however, able to *set* these instances and once
set, subsequent walks do indeed return the iinstance value. Moreover, once a
particular interfaces instance of this object is enabled I'm able to see the
linkUp/linkDown traps.
So my questions are:
1) Is DISMAN typically required to set the default values for the
ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.x instances (and where in the 'disman' implementation is
this done)?
2) Is there any other way to use the 'linkUpDownNotifications' parameter in
snmpd.conf to control the default values for the ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable.x
instances when 'disman' is not present?
Thanks,
-David
