I cannot create user with SHA & AES with net-snmp-5.4.2.1 on RH7.2 linux.
The config files seem ok.
Snmp cannot start but do not get any error message.
# cat /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf
#
# net-snmp (or ucd-snmp) persistent data file.
#
# DO NOT STORE CONFIGURATION ENTRIES HERE.
# Please save normal configuration tokens for snmpd in SNMPCONFPATH/snmpd.conf.
# Only "createUser" tokens should be placed here by snmpd administrators.
#
createUser "admin" SHA "12345678" AES "87654321"
# cat /usr/local/share/snmp/snmpd.conf
rwuser "AES" priv
# service snmpd start
Starting snmpd: [ OK ]
# ps -ef|grep snmp
No snmp is started though and
log is empty:
# cat /var/log/snmpd.log
