I use both versions on 2 different computers. I like the updating
feature of the speed dial on ver. 2.11. However, ver. 2.11 is
subject to sudden crashes when the traffic gets heavy and there is
a lot of file transfers and messaging going on.
Version 3.01 (not beta) is reliable and connects faster. If you
find it hard to connect to an ils server here is a trick that will
work most of the time. Add a lightly used server to the ils list.
When "ils cannot be found" go the that server, display and refresh
it, then go back and try to reconnect to the difficult server. It
usually works.
The search feature of ver. 3.01 is the trade-off for losing the
nice speeddial "who is logged on feature" of ver. 2.11. Maybe a
future update will restore that.
BTW, since the speed dial files are text files you can transfer
them across computers.
