Basically this is done this way just in case your best friend (grandmother, etc)
is over your shoulder.  Then nobody can see your password.  You have to type it
twice (using the tab key to retype it) and hitting enter.  Remember that root is
the chief.  So this security measure is necessary.  Also, be aware that once you
install linux, you won't see your password when you login neither.
