[newbie] kppp and accessing the internet, help

help!!!

I finally have venus 6.0 to dial out to the internet and stay connected, the
only problem that I have now is when I run netscape or lynx or any K desktop
window it will NOT connect to any site!!!
as If I am not connected, like the browser is not finding the internet, it
is quite annoying, anybody had this problem and solved it????

please help!!!
