Just a guess here.... maybe you need to recompile your kernel to enable SMP?
I don't know. I've never used SMP, but my THINKING is that it should work
just fine w/o recompiling, but that the second processor will not be used.
One thing, after reading this list, I've heard that installing Mandrake 6
can be quite difficult. You might want to try RedHat 6 first and see if that
works. If it does, then we know that it's something in the install routine
that Mandrake does differently, because Mandrake 6 is based on RedHat 6.
