[newbie] Does Mandrake fdisk destroys info?

Hi again,   First, thanks to Jonathan Swift.   I continue with install but before installing Mandrake there a partition tarjet for the system. Does the partition programs destroy data?   TIA   Lorenzo Jimenez ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
