Subject: [newbie] install problems

ok, I'm obviously new to this so give me a break. I have the RH mandrake
bootable CD. I'm trying to install linux under a windows system. I have a
separate HD I want to put linux on. I run the setup.bat from the CD and
select the file size (2gb) and swap size(128mb) it seems to work fine, but
when I boot linux it says uncompression linux or something like that and
then I get the error ran out of input, system halted. And my CPU is locked
up. If I select linux from the boot menu then it loads up but towards the
end I get some kind of unable to mount fs at 08:12 or something like that.
Anyone got an idea what is wrong? Thanks in advance

Well... for the information you give it seems that you are trying to make a
linux4win installation. If you have a separate hard drive, why don't you
make a regular installation? It's better from my point of view, just boot
from a floppy with the boot.img and follow the on-screen instructions. If
you have a problem, I'll be more that glad to help.
