Steve & Ken,

You were right about the file Ken, and Steve pegged it:

~~~~~~~~
Heh, we missed a step!
You'll need to know which ttyS your modem uses, then:
chmod 666 /dev/ttyS<x>
~~~~~~~~~~

I tried to change the permissions to this file in the Gnome Explore as
root but it wouldn't allow it (strange if you ask me) so I had to do
it in terminal and it worked just fine. I keep forgetting that ttys3
and ttyS3 are 2 different files (case sensitive). Anyway, made the
change and everything came up just fine. No errors, modem query went
great. Set up an account but for some reason it would not connect. It
got up to the point of "Logging on to Network" then it would time out.
I'll go back and check all my setting. If anyone has any other things
I could check while I'm at it, I'm all ears.

I would like to thank you for all your help as well. I really do
appreciate it.

Thanks
Russ
