This is the first time I have tried installing anything other then windows on a hard disk.
Currently I have two hard disks Maxtor 6L040J2’s 40gb/133ata. I built this computer with a shuttle ak35gtr motherboard w/ via 8366a chipset. An athlon xp 1800+ cpu, 512mb ddr/266 ram, and a nvidia gforce 3 128/ddr video card. One hard disk has windows xp pro on it. The other I would like mandrake 8.2 on it. When I tried booting disk 1 it stopped after the line: assuming 33 for ide changing to ide.xx or something like that.
