Thanks Jim, I got it going. It was pointed out that I did not have a dhcp server installed and sent me some suggestions for the: "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0" file as follows: DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=static ONBOOT=yes IPADDR=192.168.0.5 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 NETWORK=192.168.0.0 BROADCAST=192.168.0.255 This worked and loaded the eth0 interface on boot.
