Expert hangs also, same exact point.

And the CD-RW is only about 6 mos. old... I -know- it can handle 700 MB cds,
as the cds I've burned before (and borrowed for certain programs) work fine.

May I suggest that you not try "recommended" and use the "expert" install,
it
is no more dificult, just gives more choices.
how old is the CDROM reader (some older readers can not handle the 700 meg
cdroms)
