I just became a Mandrake Club member this past weekend so I will go find those precompiled drivers. Will take a look at that link as well. I have installed - then upgraded Nvidia drivers quite a few times now but never ran into this problem. yanc (HTH - some program for "tweaking" Nvidia drivers) would not install either and I suspect it might be the same problem.
