First how big is the drive you are trying to use, and how much space have yo set aside for mandrake?

have you tried to reinstall mandrake after cleaning up your windows partition?
if so did you scandisk it and defrag it first?

I have cleaned up a drive and given the space to a new linux install , but you have to do those steps first.

also how did you make the partitions ( yes plural ) for linux? with a windows tool like partition magic, of throught the linux diskdrake tool as you installed?

the more details the better.
