The thing that confuses me still, tho, is if I define
MAILDIR=/var/spool/mail, it seems to go against the conventions in the
tutorials I've read which define MAILDIR as where I tell procmail to put
messages that get "caught" and are to be put elsewhere. Also, when I
defined MAILDIR=/var/spool/mail, I got an error out of procmail, "could
not chdir /var/spool/mail" (permissions issue?).
