Well, if you're booting straight into GUI mode,  you can do
the same as you do in Windows...put it in your "startup"
folder. :-)
If you're wanting it to happen when the machine starts up,
you could put it in rc.d/rc.local. If you just want it to
happen on logon, you can put it in the .bashrc file. If you
want it to happen anytime you open a Konsole window, you'd
put it in .bash_profile.
Any of those should work and are equally valid.
