Lyvim, I'm also curious why you say OSS is superior to ALSA. From what I've been reading on the Linux-Audio-User list, OSS is rarely mentioned. It appears all the efforts to develop sound applications and utilities are using ALSA. And if I'm not mistaken, I've seen posts from you on the Linux-Audio-User list.
