You can turn any default installation of GNU/linux (Mandrake is what we use here) into a very power server - yet still be a workstation to boot; although I have segregated the roles of machines on MY home network, prior to my 10.0 OE installation, my "workstation" was the primary "server" - being a mail/IMAP server, a firewall, dhcp server, Samba server, web proxy server, an "antivirus" server - and was still my workstation. So no, it's not a specific distro at all - just a matter of how you set up your stuff (plan the work, work the plan as they say). Oh, and BTW, I did find, however, that Mandrake seems to be a more responsive "server" than RH9 - especially in Samba...(tested on two exact machines - one with RH9 the other with MDK 9.1). -- stephen kuhn mobile: 0410-728-389 illawarra and regional new south wales ----------------------------------------------- GNU/Linux/OpenSource Solutions and Alternatives 100% Microsoft Free and no viruses Registered User # 267497 ----------------------------------------------- "I don't know where we come from, Don't know where we're going to, And if all this should have a reason, We would be the last to know.
