I can't seem to find any phone number for support but they have an
email address: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Have you tried the mandrakeclub forums for questions and/or answers?

Since you changed the screen size, Have you adjusted the KDE
fonts, You can adjust the font size in the "look and feel" section of
the KDE control center, select fonts, click the "Adjust all fonts"
button or change the sizes to something suitable.
This is my guess anyway.

Your hostname was setup from your isp, There was a checkbox in the
Mandrake Control Center that states:
"Adjust host name from DHCP address" that, if left checked would do
this or may nave been auto-detected when you installed.
.. or you can change this, as root, in the config file in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-eth0 file by adding this line:
NEEDHOSTNAME=no

You can setup your own hostname.
qouted from Derek Jennings from the archives,
"If you want to set your hostname you must do it by setting the line
HOSTNAME= in /etc/sysconfig/network, or by GUI in
MandrakeControlCentre>Network>InternetAccess
restart networking with
'service network restart' or by using the GUI in
MandrakeControlCentre>System>Services
for the new hostname to take effect."

(should add this to the twiki)

Never heard of this .. Do you login as root into the root
desktop and see this ?
kdesu is how you can run an application as root if you
give the correct root password.

I haven't any experience with Mandrakeonline, But it appears that your
hostname is creating the problem, Being 249-234-35-65.tampabay.rr.com
so if you change the hostname as stated above, this may correct that error.
for example, you could chose: grace.homelinux.net or whatever ..
this should be ok for a homelan or zeroconf setup.

You can also setup your urpmi sources in Mandrake Control Center
under software management, Using "updates" which, for the first time
run, will ask for a url location to add,
then will open the updates dialog for updates, bug fixes and normal updates.
check your packages and click install.

You can add more sources from Media Manager and take a look at
the Mandrakeclub > downloads(tab) > mirror-lists(link) for other package
sources to add. I would add distribution(also called Main), contributions
(or contrib) and plf (for stuff that couldn't be added to the Mandrake
distribution for legal reasons.)

Also have a look at the Community wiki for urpmi:
http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/UsingUrpmi

HTH some ..
((someone please correct me if I've misinterpreted something.))
