Matt, Tim, Mark, Thank you for your suggestions. I had already disabled the screen saver, I used WinTop, and don't have all those start files, but at least this time I got a real error message when the install died while decompressing the program files... By the way, the only non-system, non critical file indicated by WinTop is explorer.exe, (which I found my version of windows won't run without.) "install exited abnormally--received signal 7 sending termination signals done.....unmounting file systems umount failed /sbm/losetup -d /dev/loop7 /tmp/hdimgage /tmp/image /mnt/proc /proc /dos umount failed /mnt you may safely reboot /dev/loop7: No such file or directory" any suggestions? Thanks for your help Jim Meyer
