I also use these cards and have a cable modem attached to the 3c900B. Firstly both of mine detect during setup (mandrake 7.02) only because I turned off -boot to PnP Os. Secondly I use the the 3c59x for the 3c900B and type in 3c90x for the 3c905B when using drakconf. The 3c905 is a really shit card, it gives me trouble from time to time but a reboot will fix that. Lastly you need to have some sort of login software for your isp, typical this is provide by a long term user of the ISP not the ISP themselves.
