A little more info please.
Who made your computer?
If it was done by a shop or a friend it might have been jumpered wrong.
Windoze just askes the chip"Hey what kinda chip are you?" Linux actually
measures it's speed...
Grab your motherboard book and open the case to check jumpers. Be VERY
careful if you change something...
Triple check it and maybe have a friend check it too... It is way too easy
to burn out a cpu!
