In trying to get my monitor to work last night, I discovered that the video
card I have isn't supported by Mandrake. Grrrr! I had to do a websearch and
found a "fix" but I wanted to just install and play with the thing before I
stated having to learn how to write stuff for it.
I'm installing SuSe today. I know that the video card I have is supported
in that. I'm going to play with that for a while (my husband runs that one
and I'll have an expert sitting next to me).

Yes we also have a Linux box firewall, but my computer doesn't run through
it. I have my own IP.
Once I get a little more experience I'll go back to the Mandrake.
