Then what you wrote was a typo as I suspected...

Anyway, don't use the update feature. Download all of the affected RPM's as
per the directions I sent.

I will install this way without problems...

No, this was not an attempt to install a non-Mandrake version over a
Mandrake version--this was what came up from the Update icon on the
desktop from Mandrake.  That is what wouldn't install.
