You might also check the following. Be sure that your username in kppp is
<whatever>@freewwweb.com, and verify that your the Auth. is set properly
   An experiment you can try that should give you more useful info regarding
any connection problem is to dial your ISP using minicom. After you enter
your user ID and password  what happens.
