LHarc is/was an enhanced version of the compression program 'arc'. 
Originally for CP/M I think. It was re-written/ported to MSDOS very
early in the history of MSDOS. 

I think, although I haven tryied it that you can view the content of
one of these files in Midnight Commander IF it is a file archive. I
think
that in this case you are talking about a compressed screen image for
the game and doubt that you'll be able to 'view' it with out the game
itself. It was quite common for games programmers to use commpression
techniques to reduce the size of their products by this means.
