I found that the Linux version of Acrobat reader is a dud; it does not work.
I
too have had to resort to the Windows version to read the e-books.

Also, the Linux version of RealPlayer is a dud. It will not open any files
from
the file menu. Perhaps version 8 is a goer but at better than 6 megs it's a
bit
too much to bother with.

Wait, wait.

In reference to RealPlayer, download the Linux 'bin' version rather than the
rpm. Install it to i.e. /usr/X11R6/bin
If you are using Netscape, navigate to Edit-Preferences. Select
Navigator->Applications.
Click on the 'New' button. You must add the following entries:

Important note: I added " %s " (without the quotation marks). This switch
allows for the streaming video.

Enter the following:

Description: RealMedia File
MIME type: application/vnd.rn-realmedia
Suffixes: .rm
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: RealVideo File
MIME type: video/vnd.rn-realvideo
Suffixes: .rv
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: RealAudio File
MIME type: audio/vnd.rn-realaudio
Suffixes: .ra, .ram
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: RealAudio File 2
MIME type: audio/x-pn-realaudio
Suffixes: .ra, ram
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: Live 365
MIME type: audio/x-scpls
Suffixes: .pls
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: MPEG Audio
MIME type: application/mpeg
Suffixes:
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Description: MPEG Audio 2
MIME type: audio/x-mpegurl
Suffixes: .m3u
Application: /usr/X11R6/bin/RealPlayer7/realplay %s

Click on the OK buttons to confirm the entries, close and exit Netscape.
Restart Netscape. You will be able access streaming video and audio.

That's it.
