Did you check to see that the telnet entry didn't have a # in
front of it in inetd.conf?  You probably have to restart inet.
 Go to console and type killall -HUP inetd and then type inetd.

Ok I turned on inet in the linuxconf but when I try to
login from another machine it says trying <ip#> and
then says connected to <ip#> but it waits about 10
seconds and then shuts down. Can some one tell me how
to fix this?
