Hi all
I started with mandrake 7.1 and said to myself "Wow Linux has come a long
way since my first futile attempts of working with Linux back in 96....
The next week 7.2 was released, chomping at the bit i waited a whole week
to
download the latest... Well it was well worth it. Previous attempts at
configuring PPD had me stymied but i put
Mandrake to the task. bam it worked aok. Then networking.

Bamn so far so good. All in all a hell of a great package for newbies like
me to seriously get into Linux. Minor problems like figureing out why I
can't get netscape to properly send out email to my isp im pondering...
Minor figureing out how to setup telnet turned into how to setup SSH. so
today I go to the nearest barnes and nobles and guy some doc books that
will assist me in setup .

I have heard from the alpha Linux geeks that to not take Mandrake
seriously... Well I think im gonna have to debunk that Myth. Getting
people to try other operating systems like Windows will take
distributions Like Mandrake provides. If it can within reasonable amount
of time do the same thing as per windows alot more windows users will be
able to try and determine if Linux is for them .

Keep up the good work those who work on Mandrake to make it better...
