Here is the supermount configuration I have.

  /mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/cdrom 0 0
  /mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount fs=vfat,dev=/dev/fd0 0 0

I had to turn it off when I needed to format some floppies and
when I wanted to create a Emergency Boot disk.  You will have to
go 'su' to do it.

              supermount disable (to turn it off)
              supermount enable  (to turn it back on)
