[newbie] KDE Menus

Hello All,
When I upgraded some programs their links went away in the menus.  The last 
one was Pan.  I can add the programs again thru the menu editor but I was 
wondering if there was an easier way...
I'm using Mandrake 7.2 with KDE 2.0
