[newbie] information please

[Mr. Smith]

I was reading newsgroups last night to try and figure out my problem.  I
came across some information that I want to confirm.  I read that SB Live
cards that are shipped with Gateway computers are not yet supported because
they mix analog and digital sound or something like that.  Is this true?  If
so does anyone know any additional information on it?
