Do you have a win modem, or a harware modem? If you have a Win Modem the
outlook is bleak, its possible you can get it running by checking out
www.linmodems.org. Also many soundcards seem to be configured to use the
same irq, dma and i/o settings as a modem, you might want to check the
configuration settings of your cards. I know this is the issue for me,
windows uses plug n play to reassign the settings on the 2 cards, this
feature does not seem to be available in linux, if your cards are sharing an
irq/dma/port number, you will have to open up your computer and reassign the
values via the jumpers manually. if you open it up and your modem has NO
jumpers, its very likely youre using a win modem, check out the site
provided and pray they support your winmodem. As for your CDRW, im not sure,
I havent played with mine yet, it also isnt functional at the momemnt, at
least not as a burner, it reads just fine though,

Sorry i couldnt answer all your questions, hope the info i gave you will
assist,
